Robberies became ordinary occurrences which happened from time to time in XIX century. One of the most memorable and well known robberies of Pazaislis Monastery was in 1812. At these days Pazaislis Monastery looks like magnificent sacral ensemble. However, that charming complex wasn’t always used for religious purposes. During the lasts years of the First World War Pazaislis Monastery was used as military hospital for German emperor’s soldiers. After more than three decades the same sacral ensemble was applied for patients with psychoneurological disorders. Though, in 1992 Sisters of St. Casimir Congregation brought back the religious atmosphere to Pazaislis Monastery.
